1. Who we are
Hire Skip Glasgow (hireskipglasgow.co.uk) is an online service that connects householders and businesses who need a skip with local, independent, licensed skip hire providers in and around Glasgow. We are not a skip operator and we do not carry out waste collection ourselves.

We handle your personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

We only collect what we need to pass your enquiry to a provider:

4. How we use your data
Your data is used only to:
- Receive and manage your skip hire enquiry.
- Identify a local, licensed provider that covers your area and pass your enquiry to them.
- Let that provider contact you to confirm the skip, the price and a delivery date.
We do not use your data for marketing emails or newsletters, for building user profiles, or to sell or pass to marketing companies or any third party unrelated to handling your enquiry.
5. Who we share your data with
Your data is shared only with the independent skip hire provider that will handle your enquiry. It is not shared with any other outside organisation.
When we receive your enquiry and a local provider is available in your area, we pass on the details needed (name, phone number, postcode and what you are clearing) for the sole purpose of contacting you and quoting for the job. That provider acts as a recipient of the data under the UK GDPR and may use it only to deal with your enquiry.
We do not pass data to aggregators, marketing platforms or any other third party.

The site currently uses the following third party services that may involve processing your data:

7. Lawful basis for processing
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you submit the quote form, in line with Article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR. The purpose (connecting you with a provider) is made clear to you before you give your details.
You can withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal, by writing to info@hireskipglasgow.co.uk.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data for a maximum of 12 months from the date of your enquiry, so we can deal with any follow up or complaint about it.
After that, your data is securely deleted from our systems, unless a legal obligation requires us to keep it longer.
9. Your rights
Under data protection law you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure of your data where it is no longer needed.
- Restriction of processing in certain circumstances.
- Portability of your data in a structured, machine readable format.
- Objection to the processing of your data.

If you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
